In the distance, a smoke plume marks the spot of a downed UFO caught in the act of making this crop circle. The USAF denies all knowledge. But we saw it happen.

So we've escaped the fires at Columbia Gorge, only to traverse straight through a massive burn near Sisters. This is right in Sisters town, late afternoon.
The smoke and glow from the fire casts a very unusual light on the surrounding forests. I hoped to catch the effect, even while we zoomed through the area.
