Day 38 - Seaside, Astoria, Cannon Beach

Thank goodness the witch is in. She makes a wicked caffe latte.

That giant trailer rumbling down the narrow streets of Seaside is hardly "mini" or "lite". Wendy sounds "collision" and tucks for impact.

Here we are, once again, at Astoria Tea and Coffee for a ritual looting of their little coffee shop.

We find ourselves at the mouth of the Columbia, where the freighters jockey for landing rights. Hard to believe we started this trip a ways upstream in the Gorge - 4 weeks ago it was 82F and bright sunshine.

Evolving times.

Another example of the new breed of installation art.

Those trollies are sneaky, be ware!

We have urban bean and urban growth and urban landscape, why not urban tractor?

Save Rural Jobs.

Astoria's going all out with their waterfront art projects.

The Astoria Deep Space Infrared Telescope is rolled out to its gantry at the Astoria Space Center, in readiness for launch on Oct 18. It will take three days to load aboard its total fuel load of four cords of nice seasoned hardwood, and a further two days to wind up its spring-driven guidance system.

Yeah, come 'on in!

The new ionic beam beach bonfire being tested at Cannon Beach. Ideal for toasting marshmallows.

Like a mirage, the distortion field returns again.

Wendy and Emma enjoy our last evening at the beach.
