Day 32 - La Tierra Trails

Fixin' stuff - we're not sure what.

Here we go again! The La Tierra Trails span a huge area next to our subdiv - it takes well over an hour to walk across it one-way. Today, we're having a look at the Calabasas Arroyo, at the very top of the map. Outbound, we'll track west on the very topmost trail, which roughly tracks the ridgeline to the north of the arroyo. Our return will be along the sandy bottom of the arroyo itself. We'll hope it doesn't rain and flash flood.

For Grant. The black strip of landscape at the bottom of the frame is a part of his visual language I love. This is my kick at "vast".

Who knows?

In these parts you often hear about "red flag warnings" - which means risk of forest fires. We haven't sorted out the meaning of pink flag yet.

Emma's so excited to discover the sandy bottomed arroyo - almost as good as the beach.

The fence at the end of the trail. Looks to me like it was stolen.

Decomposed remains of a lawnmower. I think.

The return home after an afternoon on the trails - just in time - rain - yes rain!! - is falling all around us.

A very rainy late night return after a Friday night in old town Santa Fe. We experienced an opening at Verve - a gallery dealing exclusively in contemporary photography. Tonight's opening featured the work of three photographers, all of whom showed bodies of work in the realm of surrealism, dreams, and fantasy. Visually satisfied we headed down the street to La Boca Restaurant - for an equally satisfying parade of innovative tapas dishes. mmmmmm.
