A while back the Kitt Peak administrators thought it would be a good idea to provide the scientists with opportunities for some good outdoor exercise. They never asked the scientists.
Turns out there was a partial solar eclipse today. This is what it looked like through a specialized solar telescope. Sunspots and prominences are clearly visible along with the moon's bite. At least, I think it's the moon.
