These little boxes are the Distortion Field Generators used to preserve the Preserve. Everything in the Preserve is preserved according to the Law of Constant Preservation that says, "an object that is preserved tends to stay preserved". Or something like that.
The bees love this particular flower. The entire desert is blooming after the past days' rains, but there is something special about these plants. We think it is an experimental bee-mind-control experiment. It works.

The nice Marines from 29 Palms are out for a little Sunday afternoon fly about. They volunteer to ensure the Distortion Field over the Morongo Preserve remains intact. No one messes with a Marine.

We stumble upon Bonnie and Clyde's Last Ride. Really. It even has many bullet holes in the door, right where Faye Dunaway took a few for the team.

It is not a pleasant occurence - many have been lost on the boardwalk vortex.

So far it's not working.
