Roadtrip 2015 Fall: Vancouver - Astoria - Bandon - Anderson - Paso Robles - Palm Desert - Morongo Valley - Sedona - Henderson - Lone Pine - Sacramento - Ashland - Newport - Astoria - Vancouver

Day 14 - Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains and other bits

This picture is a couple of days late due to a missed publication deadline and other technical issues, but better late than never... Meet our local Greeting Tarantula - she's bigger than my fist. She loves barbecue and came out the first night I fired up the outdoor grill. Emma is very jealous of her beautiful black cashmere socks.

Our friends from 29 Palms have many ways to move about the desertside.

Dino gots to eat!

Sometimes Dino gets so hungry she even breaks the containment system - which to be fair is pretty weak.

Wilma says: Smile Dino!

Wilma loves them big.

Yes, unbelievably, it's Stella on wheels.

This is the I - 10 line up that all the truckers must endure to "weigh in". Even more unfortunate the poor driver of the volkswagen transport is the laughing stock of all the other truckers. Is anyone really going to buy these things now?

Banning overlook - courtesy Tasha and Yvonne.

Today's Mystery Melon. I know, it's not a melon. Dogs have no idea.

The Coachella Valley sprawls below us as we descend from a day in the San Jacinto Mountains.

That's our road to coffeetime.

Everybody in Palm Springs is trying out the new GoAheadAndDriveMyCar.com app. Look ma! No hands!

Certainly the coolest mid-century foyer in town.

The Man of LaMancha stands behind the crime scene tape. We ignore his plaintive cries for justice and settle into our Koffi's. mmmmmmMMMMMMMmmmmmm Koffi.

Just for Rita.

Kristi Bloomer wants your vote for a spot on the Desert Water Agency. It's kind of like the cranky condo owners association - except rather than the usual coffee meetings they get to drink extra sparkly imported Colorado Sprngs water.
