Roadtrip 2015 Fall: Vancouver - Astoria - Bandon - Anderson - Paso Robles - Palm Desert - Morongo Valley - Sedona - Henderson - Lone Pine - Sacramento - Ashland - Newport - Astoria - Vancouver

Day 32 - Broken Arrow, Twin Buttes: Devil's Dining Room, Chicken Point

The Broken Arrow trail is one of Sedona's Most Famous Areas, apart from the Almighty Vortexes. Wherever you go, wherever you are, there is going to be a Pink Jeep in your picture.

The World-Famous Anti-Jeep Henge, built by the ancient aliens in a vain attempt to keep the Pink Jeeps away.

The World-Famous Eleven Sacred Puddles.

The World-Famouse Map Lichen Rock. It is believed this rock's lichen is actually a map of the galaxy, detailing the primal location of the ancient aliens. Earth is that speck of green goo lower center. Under high magnification, the words, "mostly harmless," can be made out.

Just for Tena. Just off the main trail and up this gorgeous little side canyon we find this detritus. Really people - can we not do better?

These agave plants definitely have my attention. Their colours and shapes are mesmerizing.

These are not the pink jeeps - they are the jeeps of many colours. The folks driving these jeeps must be crazy - they're actually driving their vehicles into these holes on purpose. Apparently just to see whether they can get them back out again - or not. This one really is in a spot of bother. Even the standby spotter in the black shirt looks worried.

Pink Jeep Snouts are everywhere you want to be.

The World-Famouse Jeep Breaking Grounds of Sedona. Gotsa Jeep? Yous can brings it here for a good ol' bustin'.

The pink jeeps laugh and roll right on by.

The smiling fellow in the front passenger seat is one of the guides - the terrified people holding on for dear life in the back are paying customers.

Yes, he really did get out of this one.

The Time-Honoured Sport of Jeep Baiting. It's a little like running with the bulls in Pamplona, but with more jeeps and more beer.

The Time-Honoured Sport of Jeep Wedging. I'm not clear on the rules, but it has something to do with how far down a crack you can wedge a jeep.

The much more sedate crowd heads for the beauty of Chicken Point - we didn't see a single chicken though. Emma was hoping for KFC at the trails end.

Wendy and Emma on the summit ridge of Chicken Point.

Yes, the Pink Jeeps are here too - there are 70 Pink Jeeps in the Sedona fleet.

Family portrait.

Today's Mystery Poo.

The Twin Buttes trail is far above the jeep road, leaving us jeep-free for the return trip.
