Day 33 - Sunset and Wupatki, Phoraging Phlagstaff

The sunstreaks project continues with ad-hoc ways of getting a camera higher. I failed to get onto the roof of our house - it's too high for any of our ladders to reach, but the ladder itself has proven useful. High winds threaten the project, and scare me silly.

Fashion trending now, in Sedona.

Sedona Saturday.

We've decided to escape the crazy weekendness of Sedona and head up to the Painted Desert north of Flastaff. Yes, that is snow and it is chilly!

The Vermilion Cliffs rear their head once again. Last year, we spent hours driving along the edge of Vermilion.

It seems some enterprising minds came up with a cool enough thing to put in these garbage cans to prompt the government to regulate it - in two languages. I wonder what was that cool?

Who ever said that plant growth had to make sense.

The Wukoki Pueblo is a fortress in the desert.

The drive back to Phlag is replete with Route 66 stuff - and everything you might need - a HoJo, a diner, and a place for cheap drinks.

If the last place isn't to your taste, this one is for sure. A place to sleep, a place to eat, a place to get really drunk, and a place to change your oil while you do all of the above.

Sure it is.

Russ is resplendent with happiness as he strolls away from Proper with his forage. Emma really wants to get into that bag. And yes, despite temperatures hovering near zero, Russ still insists on shorts.

I never realized the weirdness of the men's room at Macy's until today. First, there is the concept of "Gentleme". It's also pretty clear that the "Gentleme" are regarded as dangerous, as the deadlock for the room is obviously designed to keep the "Gentleme" inside until the police and/or SPCA arrive.
