This morning's beach activity seems to be ..... hmmmm ... family calisthetics??
Secret Beach path - likely known only to locals - spot the local.
One last sunstreak for this trip - there's not a great angle here, so the camera is cantilevered out beyond the deck edge.
On our way to our new secret beach. The high tide was very high today and has just turned. There's obviously room for a good game of ball, though.
We find evidence of an ancient alien tennis court. These petrefied tennis balls have been carbon-dated to 72M years ago, when the likely competitors had to also deal with T. Rexes. Note the ancient balls are white, suggesting tennis back then was not a popular TV sport.
This will be the last extended beach walk for this trip.
That's the Yacquina Head Light in the distance.
Caught.
This beach has the most incredible rock walls.
I think I want to do my fireplace surround with this stuff.
Colour, pattern, shape, it's all here.
Family Totem.
Time's up! Play ball!
The cliffs weep in abundance.
Wendy and Emma demonstrate their newfound psychic vortex powers by levitating Emma's ball. One part of the trick is to never look at the ball. Balls hardly ever levitate if they think they are being watched. We think there is a new professional sport in this somewhere. Probably in Australia.
This is the local forbidden lighthouse. Forbidden to us as they won't let dogs anywhere near it. The nice gate guard was surprised one year when we turned down the "opportunity" to pay the entrance fee but remain in the parking lot. So, why would we pay the fee? This may be the only light on the coast that we haven't visited - but now we know we can sneak up on it from the Secret Beach side.
Demonstrating the ability to make something from an unfortunate turn of events.
The sun sets on our last full day of carefree adventuring. Tomorrow, we start the last runout to home.
How simple can it be? Reference - Wendy Richmond - Art Without Compromise.
Yup, today's dog art selection. Geez the dogs here in Newport are good. A solo show at MoMA should be pending.
Me thinks it's about time to go home.
