Roadtrip 2015 Spring: Vancouver - Astoria - Newport - Oceanside - Cannon Beach - Vancouver

Day 13 - Things to do along the Three Capes

These volunteers gather every full moon, prepared to embark on alien rescue spacecraft sent in advance of the coming climatic disaster. Too bad for the rest of us.

Jack Daniel's other operation.

To hell with the traffic! Play ball!!

That's better.

Lunatics drive their minivan through the surf. Or maybe it's not their minivan.

The array of activity choices is astonishing at Cape Kiwanda.

The flotsam of the day.

Nuthin' beats a little paddle in the surf - generally taking your bike into the salt is not highly recommended.

These poor people have had their giant pet avocado escape, and it's running wild up that sand dune.

We learned last fall in Tucson that the Black Helicopters are using little white clouds to hide their movements. And here they are.

The orange battle standards are raised - we'll get those alien invaders before they make it over the first set of dunes.

We're not 100% sure, but we think this is the vehicle that would have come to rescue the guy in the Prius we saw stuck in the beach sand with the tide coming in. Don't know how that one turned out.

If ya' hurry there's still time to join the dune defence brigade.

Meanwhile back at the alien rescue embarcation point, the volunteers have learned that first they must learn to fly the para glider so they can rendezvous off shore with the spacecraft. They didn't think it was going to be this hard.

Russ commands the computers - again.

Yes we are at the beach but Wendy has discovered that even in America - she can find a channel carrying the Canucks' playoff games. Russ can stand relieved now, as the inept squad blew a 3 - 0 lead to lose the game 7 - 4. Calgary takes the best of 7 in 6.
