Roadtrip 2016 Fall: Vancouver - Yakima - Bend - John Day River - Port Orford - Florence - Seaside - Vancouver

Day 20 - Pistol River

unconventional moments

Emma looks on with great disbelief - what is that boy doing now?

nuthin' left but the crumbs

Emma takes a pre afternoon activities nap.

Drink bottles trying to be stealthy.

Ah yes. The Mystery Poo of the Day.

Everybody seems to own an assortment of RVs, trailers, campers, boats and the necessary towing equipment. And a minivan for the kids. And enough land to strew everything about.

Have we ever mentioned, "there ain't nuthin' like a day at the beach"?

Once again, on a secret beach, we find the mysterious drag marks. From the length and shape of the skids, it seems apparent that yet another attempt at an anti-gravity machine is being tested.

Notice how heavy the human and dog footprints look compared to the skid marks left by an anti-gravity machine weighing several tons? Looks like the NSA is finally succeeding.

View from inside an Oregon stick house which are gaining popularity all up and down the coast. Soon the effects of high taxes - we can't have enough bike lanes and we're still paying for the mismanaged Olympics - coupled with exorbitant real estate and rent will have most of Vancouver BC down here for a hut on the beach.

These are the secret NSA access trails across the dunes.

Today's clouds are also behaving mysteriously.

An extra-low tide is giving us access to these sea stacks.

Tidal pool residents.

The local surf community is here for the last waves of the day.

Last light - the Oregon Coast really looks like this.

We scamper back as the tide turns. No way to reach that arch without a boat.

Within minutes this entire gap was filled by the incoming sea.

The last rockpile of the day.
