There's time for just one more game of Leviball on Heceta Beach. Then, we must turn for home, with a stop in Seaside.
The tunnels of the Oregon Coast - truly a testament to remarkable human engineering feats. Just don't think about the pressure of the land mass all around you as you pass through!
The view from the upper deck at Local Ocean, our favourite lunch stop in Newport.
Wendy ponders the crab fleet, wondering when they will head out.
The little white stern just to the right of the boathouse is the Jaka-B. Her captain was at the table next to us at Local Ocean. He has fished these waters for over 40 years. He confirmed for us there is no such place as "Dungeon Cove". He also relayed the story that the Retherford family, stars of the forenamed TV show, refused the original working title, "Hell's Dungeon", which is an even crappier name. Good on the Retherfords.
This is all that remains of the house we rented overlooking Newport Harbour in the spring of 2015. It appears to have burned. Check out the pictures from the house in our Spring 2015 roadtrip log. The photograph "the race For home" was made from this house.
Tillamook downtown - looks like 10 pm but it's actually not even 5pm. Rain is brutal - and darkness has set in.
Ahh, the lively and lovely bright lights of Seaside. We weathered a ridiculous rain/wind storm around the town of Wheeler to get here. Glad to be in port - I thought the truck was going to start floating at one point!
