Roadtrip 2017 Fall: Vancouver - Seaside - Bandon - Calistoga - Sedona - Sacramento - Seaside - Vancouver

Day 40 - Teacup, Sugarloaf and off-map trails

The run-in to Sugarloaf is lined with prickly pears.

The lower slopes still have challenges for old dogs.

High above Soldier Pass, the mid- climb snack.

Agave down.

How long do I have to wait for the summit snacks?

The black helicopters are back, watching our every move.

Rock shelf surfing.

Russel finds a tube.

This is what the black helicopters didn't want us to find on today's unmarked trail. It appears the be a navigation beacon for Project Cadastral, which explains the fact that cell phone reception goes dead when you get with about 5 meters of this thing.

Scouting the next gully to surf.

Resting place for the tiniest of the red rocks.

Houses up Soldier Pass oad melt into the landscape. The CC and R's here are very strict.

The clouds are being distorted by that Project Cadastral installation.

Today the black helicopters are not enough - they've sent out the old fixed wings as well.
