The run in to Sheurman Mountain provides much fodder for the Sedona Traveller submission.

Today's run-in goes past the local high school. I have no idea how they convince any kids to stay in school here. I wouldn't.

Up a steep path, and we're on the Scheurman Mountain Mesa.

Our viewpoint stop.

Yet another summit.

This is not a well known trail - yet the views are spectacular. We think the locals are trying to keep it as much a secret as possible.

The summit snack stop. For Ella - Blue Buffalo bison heartshaped treats. For Russ and Wendy - mixed nuts.

Our trail today was a bit shorter than most, so we get more relax time at the top.

Sure enough we take a short diversion on the way back down and discover this "X" marks the spot alien landing zone. We're calling out Mulder and Scully right now.

Cactus family portrait.

By a not well understood spatial principle - we are able to step right off the edge of the trail and back onto to the roadway.

Wendy takes a picture. Ellie digs a hole. So much production.

The prickly pears along this trail are enormous, and some have very unusual elongated shapes.

Trailside dangers and annoyances.

Sedona Traveller will love this one - the golden hour light is just right.
