We depart Seaside enroute for destination Yachats. Here we pause briefly over the vast Pacific and the beaches of Manzanita for a couple sips of our "Controversial Coffee". There's also foraging awaiting us down there.
Foraging complete - we push on up the road to find the little gem of Neskowin under water!
The highways folks have established a detour for us - sure hope the Neskowenites will be OK. Doesn't look good.
And then there was more hail.
Ahhhh. Within hailing distance of the Schooner. This place is a treasure - and along with the Monk - one of the things we were missing most about being shut off this coast for 2 years.
It really doesn't look like much, but the Schooner is worth a long detour to Netarts anytime you are within hailing distance. That's their crazy LA-forged wood-burning forno to the left.
Just look. The food speaks for itself.
The Rules and Regulations start. $10 day use area. And it's just a scrape in the middle of nowhere.
For your $10, you also get the use of this completely DEADLY bay, which is just waiting to kill you in the many listed ways, and a few others that nobody will talk about.
The Original Pelican Pub at Cape Kiwanda.
The rain lifts just as we traverse Newport.
Gulls gone mad, south of Newport.
Just incase the day didn't have enough climatic diversity already - the sun brilliantly pokes through.
Angry sunset 2022.
