Day 28 - Foraging for Espresso Machines, Point St. George

We killed another espresso machine today. We just got the freshly-dead machine in St. George in 2019, when we were based in Kanab, where our original machine died. The original machine, a very simple and cheap Krups device bought in a hardware store in Sisters Oregon, was at least 15 years old and a veteran of about 30 roadtrips. The new, much more expensive Delonghi machine didn't make it through its 2nd trip. Huh. Wendy triumphantly holds aloft her prize - we believe this is the last machine for sale on the coast from at least Eureka California to Bandon Oregon. And it's a cheap thing - Mr Coffee, bought for about the same price as our original, and pretty much the exact same design.

Our young Padawan is learning the intricacies of "no-look" LeviBall.

A beach art sits quite comfortably poised for an ocean view - while a flock of turkey vultures has found a comsumable prize down the beach. We cut off our walk - bet those vultures get pretty territorial about their lunch.

The beach at Point St. George is inhabited by a colony of Greater California Sea Vipers, who enjoy viping unsuspecting swimmers.

The little church building is quite beautiful in it's simplicity and setting when isolated from the other design conundrums.

I wonder how keen the 911 operators will be to take these calls?

Wow - 8th wonder - who knew?

There he be - the new Mr Coffee takes his place on the counter. Note the fancy Delonghi relegated to the back blocks. Here's to the reign of the $45.00 travel espressos! Yes we have tried it - it does work - and it's really simple. Of course the Sleepy Monk makes an appearance here too.
