Roadtrip 2021-2022 Winter: Seaside - Yachats - Brookings

Day 39 - Seaside, Astoria

The Megler bridge floats.

There is less and less of this pier every time we see it.

Astoria's version of Ripley's believe it or not.

This window is located on the side of the Cannery Pier Hotel. We're not quite sure what caused the elaborate landscape like pattern - but it may be a good thing that the place is currently under a major renovation.

Another secret hatch! It's unlikely to be Bigfoot, as they don't talk about that around here. Could be that Giant Herring that comes out at night and stalks the wharves.

The Renewed Topographics: Dance Steps for Containers.

The Oregon Responder is an oil spill responder class vessel and defintiely does not show her 29 years of age. We trust she has been continously updated and possibly sports a recent paint job. Either that - or it's truly a cover for something far more clandestine.

Renewed topograpics in the rain.

Woohoo a lucky monkey tree!

Heading to the Desdemona - what better to do on a rain day?

...... and the pickups aligned - outside the tap room with care .....

As the invasion force approaches - Seaside sends out gull force 1.

Thank goodness - I get a little end of day beach and ball.

At this time of year - this can be the loneliest swing set ever.

Last light at the Seaside rotunda. The flag is half mast for an Oregon volunteer fire fighter who lost his life in the line of duty. His name was Austin Smith.
