Vancouver departure - that's not cloud cover - it's wildfire smoke. Yes - Crazy.

Incredible amounts of smoke blanket the landscape from Bellingham to Everett and beyond.
A sighting of the seldom discovered camouflage caboose.
A crazy 5 mile long traffic jam on I-90 East, just past Snoqualmie Summit stops us for an hour. You can see our position on the GPS at Keechelus Lake. There is no way to drive around this.

After the jam - and a much needed Pioneer coffee at Cle Elem - we approach a wind farm near Vantage.
The rest area at Wanapum Dam has the nicest grass in the world. Perfect for a sheltie to get in a game of ball at sunset.
Every throw counts.
The smoke still lingers in the Columbia valley, but is way less crazy than out at the coast.
The Renewed Topographics arrives in the Columbia valley.
Crossing the Columbia on the way into Richland.
Feels like a Halloweenish mood is upon us. This is the table decor at Fiction retaurant at the Bookwalter winery. Amazing food - prepard with love and only the best ingredients. Worth a visit.
