Day 49 - Paso Robles to Calistoga

Fog lingers in the hills - as we depart Paso.

The inevitable blockage. Wouldn't be a road trip without the road works.

The hills outside my door.

The rangeland in the backcountry looks like it goes on forever. Wrong. Silicon Valley's teaming masses are just over that ridge.

Storm clouds start to gather over San Jose. It is clear the Black Helicopters are up to no good.

This "detour" has been here for at least a decade. Perhaps it's time to just admit the original road is dead forever.

Booze and food - nuthin' else necessary.

Oh - except garlic of course - must have garlic!

The Silverado Trail used to be our shortcut through Napa Valley to avoid the traffic mess that is the central valley. The traffic jam is now here, too.
