Day 1 - Vancouver to Seaside

Whaaaa? Tony's has been re-flagged "The Old Independent". Nuthin' else have changed - even the paper cups still says "Tony's". I hope there isn't any karma floating around in this.

Coffee - check. Quiche - check. Pumpkin spice cookie - check. Whew! Yes it is a name change only.

Breakfast with an unusual collection of friends.

Just for Cheryl: but you have to get past these boats first. In Mount Vernon.

Past the boats, the open pit mine of RV's. They obviously can dig 'em out faster than they can sell 'em.

The poor, poor Hillside is, well, sinking back into its hillside.

Russland is under roilly skies today.

And yes, The Rules and Regulations. Thankfully, these are easy to understand.

It's been a while since we've been here - Ilwaco is now a fully-functional ghost town.

Complete with ghost boats.

Crossing the Columbia - we're back in 2 months - thankfully not 2 years!

We make the trek for dinner to Cannon Beach at the Pelican. En route back all heck breaks lose! Yes - that is snow. Yes it is April and this is the Oregon Coast. Almost feels like a "this can't be happening" scenario.

This is what the first-ever recorded snowstorm in April in Seaside looks like. Really.
