Day 11 - The Badlands

I suppose once you're illegally hunting, ignoring this sign really isn't such a big deal.

Ella wonders - just how bad can the Badlands be?

No doubt - life is tough out here.

Something really big and scary made all the juniper pines around here drop their berries. The local wildlife won't touch 'em.

The path is rimmed with lots of hardy drought resistant plants.

Lava mixes with the sand, deadfall and folliage. The landscape is in fact very diverse.

This tree has been set aside as a gathering post for the little known and nearly extinct badlands bear.

We can't escape the intermitent and hail studded spot showers.

No chicken no!! Now is not a good time to cross the road!!
