Roadtrip 2023 Fall : Richland - Bend - Reno - Mammoth Lakes - Henderson - Donkey Heaven - Sedona - Joshua Tree - Paso Robles - St Helena - Brookings - Seaside

Day 21 - Crescent Moon Ranch

Layla's Bakery. Now the Maker of Record of best Quiche Lorraine in the universe. Sergio of Trafiq in Vancouver used to be the Maker of Record, but he took it off the menu. Are you hearing me, Sergio?

A side channel to Oak Creek burbles quietly.

Oak Creek is always insanely lush at Crescent Moon.

Ella watches intently as her boy disappears around the bend.

Red rocks meet Oak Creek.

Fall is certainly here.

Leaves float through the air over Oak Creek.

It is believed this paleolithic pictograph is detailed instructions for building a space-time portal. The Black Helicopters really don't like us taking pictures of stuff like this.

This paleolithic diagram is believed to be a star chart showing the relationship of our puny planet (visible upper right) to the mighty expanse of civilized space. No wonder we are charted as "mostly harmless".

The wild entagled forest along the creek side.

At first we couldn't figure out what these hanging pagodas all along the creekside were. We'd never seen anything like them before. One theory turned towards alien recording devices - but we settled on the realization that these were deposits from recent extreme flood waters that caused Oak Creek to significantly overflow her banks.

The ol' swimmin' hole. Except that it's fed by a glacial creek.

Trees maintain their cool.

Trees can do love knots too.

The evidence of recent floods are everywhere. Oak creek flooded at this point to well over our heads.

Contemplation at the vortex.

The Team crosses the slickrock at Red Rock Crossing.

Ellie waits for stragglers.

Yup - vortexes at work in these parts.

We discovered last spring that the Black Helicopters don't like Orange Helicopters. It's not clear where the Orange Helicopters came from, or what their mission really is, but we are happy for the moment that they are chasing the Black Helicopters away.

Autumn has not yet arrived in the pasture. We'll be back in a few weeks to see the change.
