Day 30 - Broken Arrow

The Original Idea was to hike Twin Buttes - which is up on those ledges up there. One wrong turn, and here we are on Broken Arrow. Not that this hike is bad.

The Team heads out - these are the lower ledges that ultimately reach Chicken Point - those spires on the right in the distance. I don't have the range to reach Chicken Point from here.

This yucca has bloomed. Perhaps it will bloom again - some do - while some bloom just once and then die. Regardless more yuucalets are visisble here and ready to carry on.

Just when you thought you had a bad hair day .....

The massive East Wall.

Late season entanglement.

Sunset comes early to the west side of the valley - and the temperature drops. This is the Pinks' favourite time for hunting. This Pink has set an ambush along a track used by unwary hikers. Best to stay clear.

That's the trail sign we missed to Twin Buttes - we were one ledge lower outbound.

Sunset is minutes away. The race is on to the parking lot.

Always beware - the yuccas are watching.
