The Ocotillos love this spot. But, they have shut down for the winter.

The trail has many dangers. Ffurther along we encounter a massive praying mantis/ant eater - previously believed to exist only in paleolithic times.

I think that's Mount Schuerman. I may get strong enough to try that trail in a couple of weeks.

A micro slot canyon.

Ella Odd Sock had a bath just 3 days ago to clean up some of the red dust. Didn't last long.

For over 15,000 years, Paleolithic Humans used this rock as the official measure of 1/2. Many copies were made for commerce, but in the event of a dispute, the parties were required to travel here to resolve their differences with the Official Rock. As a result, their time was remarkably free of warfare, thanks to this simple agreement.
