Day 35 - Sedona Base and Cibola Pass

Just a little tour around our home away from home ....

The picnic table is always watching.

We believe this is a statue of St. Francis. Ella is especially excited - after all he is the patron saint of animals - and is carefully watching over this special place.

Not to be outdone by Francis - of course there are also angels.

We hope these small faces are blowing good winds our way.

Spirituality form every land has a corner here.

More crazy bark and fallen peeled bark scattered in the landscape.

This is the Original Symbol of Power from "Lord of the Flies". The book actually got it wrong - it's a ram's head.

Cibola Pass is ringed in by steep cliffs.

That sign is as far as you are allowed to drag your hang glider.

The Mitten. Local legend/history relates the coming of an Alien Explorer with hands having two opposed thumbs. The Explorer left this permanent reminder of his visit. The gesture, usually delivered with the middle hand, means "Live Long and Prosper".

Once again, stupid views abound.

The other side of Cibola Pass is no different for crazy views.

Bargaining for summit snacks.

Ravens play in the updrafts in the canyon.

The return trail.

Another type of berry goes unloved - much like the yellow ones.

A maze of trees and shrubs..

Vortex rumblings once again.....

Tonight we were treated to a prolonged and ever evolving sunset from our back patio.

Next phase some real drama evolved - with the sky becoming more and more intensley coloured.

...... until it literally appeared to be a fire sky.
