Roadtrip 2023 Spring: Seaside - Waldport - Bend - Rock Creek Schoolhouse - Richland

Day 23 - The Cove at Cape Perpetua

Spring has finally sprung.

So many differing species comingle.

General Motors has been working on these plant-based turbocharger scrolls for years. They still have a major problem getting them to grow large enough. Never bet against 3D printing.

The trees stand stoically in the midst of all the experimental tech.

The path bends - and so does this huge tree branch.

Perpetua Cove. The fun part of this cove are the tide pools in the rocks on the far side. We arrive right on low tide. We watch in horror as the NOAA's forecast warning comes true: sneaker waves at low tide!

Doesn't seem like much danger to start.

Ooops!

That's about 4 feet of water running past the tide pools! Tourists swept out to sea again!

This agile young man and his dog avoid the incoming tidal threat.

The mighty Perpetua River blasts out of its bunker.

Perpetua's answer to the Greeting Cat of Japan: The Greeting Seal of Oregon. So there.

The Team climbs the driftwood at the shoreline. The shore itself is way too dangerous.

I lean on you.

Angry sunset form our perch.

Waldport holds her breath as the alien invasion force approaches yet again. We see this activity on almost every trip to the coast. That would be the mother ship hovering below the clouds at the horizon.
