Day 25 - Waldport to Bend

Departure from Waldport - of course there must be coffee for the road first. This time we hit the Beachside Buzz - coffe was excellent.

We take the scenic route away from the coast - up Hwy 34 along the Alsea River. The tree moss is off scale.

We work our way off Hwy 34 and over to 99A and the Willamette Valley. We cross under I5 and never have to set a wheel on it! We link up with Hwy 126 for the push into Bend. The route runs along the McKenzie River. We had no idea the extent of forest fire devastation in the region.

Arrival in Sisters!

It's been a long, long time since we visited Sisters Coffee - they have either been closed or overrun with customers.

Today is just perfect - we score an outdoor table in the waning sunshine and are treated to superb coffee and a "cowgirl cookie". We also haul away some coffee - they're doing single varietal lighter roasts now - which are our favourites.
