Day 49 - Snow Canyon: Red Sands, Hidden Pinyon

Leaving the very nice ADA foot and bike path that takes us to today's trailhead.

Once again, evidence that Wildfire Lab is testing their latest energy weapons out here in the desert. Where are the Black Helicopters?

The World-Famous Lava Poo Gardens. Planted in 1954 to commemorate the 1947 discovery of Lava Poo, these gardens have since been tended by the Utah Park Service.

The sage coloured plants in this landscape match the colour and the form of the rock forms in the distance. This can't be natural.

Spot the loonies climbing that petrified dune in flip-flops.

When in a canyon ......

One way through on this trail. It is tight.

The alternate way through. It is tighter.

The Tumbleweed Guardian of the path.

Red rocks surround us - and block our way. None shall pass.

Every turn we make is a tight one on this trail.

Yeah - another hole was required - I'm trying to unearth the secrets held beneath the sand. Some things humans will never comprehend and I must get to the bottom of this. Even if my snout turns red doing so.

The flip flop hikers appear to have survived their climb and indeed they make it safely down. They vow to hustle over to the nearest REI and to never do this again.

The Best Dune Art of this trip. Artist unknown.

Red snout, red hole. Dunno how that happened.

The flip-floppers make their escape.

The Team advances up the last gorge.
