Day 56 - Paso Robles to St Helena

Way off on a lonely backroad - the landing strip that no earthly flying machine could possibly land on.

Bridging over the San Joaquin River towards more windfarms.

There are very few ways across the Sacramento River, and this is the only one for many, many miles. This bridge, at Rio Vista is going to be closed for maintenance for a few days in January - the drive around if you need to get to the other side, will take more than an hour.

The colours of autumn have come to the vineyards in Napa.
