Roadtrip 2024 Spring: Seaside - Yachats - Tumalo - Walla Walla

Day 18 - Cape Perpetua - Devil's Churn

Daisies are a poppin'.

Green and ready to sting.

The increasingly wonky stairs to go meet the Devil.

Alondside the churn of a very calm Devil - and looking back to sea. Standing in this spot will usually cover you with a vigorous spray of devil mist.

The Devil appears to be out of the office today. We have never seen this place so unDevilish.

This little beach always attracts pilgrims, whose final act is to crawl on their bellies across the cove at low tide.

Rocks spill.

Sparkly clear water in these tide pools. The ocean here is too aggressive for life to take hold.

The Team at Pilgrim's Cove. No belly-crawling, though.

The Team climbs the crazy logjam at the access to Pilgrim's Cove.

Meanwhile, Russ enjoys the greenery and ocean views.

Russ participates in a tree emergence ritual. It's kinda like the coastal version of visiting a Sedona vortex.

Hah!! Wendy sniffed out a great one! New to Nye Beach, Zurita is a Spanish Tapas restaurant, with actual crazy Spanish things - like Jamon Iberica - that cured leg of acorn-fed pigs. mmmmMMMMMmmmmm.

The sun sets on the race for home.
