Roadtrip 2024 Spring: Seaside - Yachats - Tumalo - Walla Walla

Day 20 - Elk City, Newport, Ona Beach

The World-Famous Elk City Boat Launch.

Meanwhile, back in Newport, the entire NOAA fleet has sailed. Godzilla uses the opportunity to scout the harbour.

Detail from picture above. Godzilla is still not very angry. Hungry maybe. Where is the NOAA? Where are the Black Helicopters?

No one wants the outdoor tables at the Clearwater today. Happy to watch the fishers return to port from the comfort of an indoor window seat.

Who wouldn't want to turn in here - they have everything from burritos to biscuits and gravy.

The little park in front of Ona Beach has taken a beating this past winter. The forest is now these odd totems.

The Stonefolks pose for a family portrait.

The Team heads to the beach.

We always find one "just for George". Imagine this beautiful ridgepole designed home. Conveniently sited just above the tideline for easy beach access. Novel deep sand flooring makes for comfortable sleeping. No bed purchase required. This one should sell as quick as the turn of a tide.

The rains of earlier give way to brilliant sunshine.

The Sentient Sea Foam unveils their massive new Quantum Superconducting Computer MkII. They are now seeing if it can successfully pass the Adams Test, first proposed by astrophysicist and philosopher Douglas Adams, who in his groundbreaking 1979 radio documentary, "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy" supposed the defining question for Supercomputing Intellgences: "What do you get if you multiply six by nine?" The correct answer, which would take the current best equipment in the galaxy about 10 million years to compute, is "42".

What appears to be a reptilian tail points down the beach. Could it be that Godzilla is napping on the wet sandy shore - wallowing pleasantly in the sentient foam - and forgot to bury his tail. Even Godzilla gets very tired from time to time.

Sentient foam does abstract. Sentient foam is very smart - it can do just about anything. Sentient foam thinks this deserves a gallery showing.

The green Godzilla egg hides in the rocks.

Sand ridge.

This little character scuttles along - as the sand clouds loom above.

I'm very friendly and just want someone to stop and chat for a bit.

Seems today the beach has chosen to show many things reminisent of spinal columns! This one is resting comfortably in a small pool of tidal remnant.
