Day 27 - Newberry National Volcanic Monument
Just a regular gas stop in the tiny town of Tumalo.
Sticks and twigs as tree.
The volcanic path.
Not too many trees survive in this lava landscpe.

Lava dragon rests her head on top of the rocky pile.
Meanwhile, down the path, Esme the elezard - with her large trunk and snippy tail - guards access to the upper lava piles.

This gap is where the torrent of lava flowed.

The Team hides out of the wind near the summit. Around the corner, it is very breezy and cold.
Red dot in the landscape.
We think these most unusual little plants are some sort of moss. But in this stage they really look like teeny tiny little flowers.
