Day 36 - Tumalo to Walla Walla

Still trying to catch that wild horse in Prineville.

Just a usual day in Mitchell OR.

The truck is actually muddier.

The loneliest roads of this trip - north out of Mitchell.

The road is so lonely, this cowboy was surprised to see us. We skirted the herd.

Hoodoos on the hill throw rocks at the road. Really.

More snow! And hail in the pass. Apparently, lots of people got stuck up here yesterday.

Mayville is still here, if only barely.

Strees are silck and town is deserted in Condon.

Another ode to Berndt and Hilla.

Another experimental Navy initiative. This tower is specially equipped with novel and secret devices aimed to attract electrical storms as a possible defence against alien invaders. Seems to be experiencing some at least moderate success here.

That was quite the drive today - but all worth the effort to experience a fabulous meal at Hattaway's on Alder. We even get some end of day sunset colour! Hoping all our Walla Walla dining will be this good!
