Roadtrip 2024 Spring: Seaside - Yachats - Tumalo - Walla Walla

Day 37 - Walla Walla, surrounding towns, Pioneer Park

Everything's just ducky this morning in Walla Walla.

The sun plays peekaboo at morning coffee.

Just for Pete: I remember the good ol' days of your Opel GT.

Waitsburgh is very quiet. Gorgeous old historic buildings - but much is shuttered.

The undulating hills around Walla Walla. Great for wine and hay fields.

Finally Granny is off the rocking chair on the back of the truck - and into the driver's seat. Pipe smokin' to boot.

The Team in the sycamores.

Band shell in the sicamores at Pioneer Park.

The park is a true gem - beautiful grounds - amazingly manicured. Even a large play and sport area and an aviary.

Just for Matt: we found the pink dogwood the city promised to plant in front of your house.

Russ steams from tree to tree to get a perfect vantage point for a lens full of pink.

Sadly this may be the second to last pic my trusty little digi cam - a fuji xe 1 will make. On the next shot it clicked and went totally blackout. Shutter is jammed shut. No idea whether we will repair or renew. Online research has revealed a very complicated path forward - with very little availability of these types of fujis at this time. It will be a visit to Beau on return home. Thankfully - the little workhorse held out until the 3rd from last day of the trip.

The dogwoods are going full gas.
