Roadtrip 2024 Spring: Seaside - Yachats - Tumalo - Walla Walla

Day 39 - Walla Walla to Vancouver

Our last hurrah at the Colville Street Patisserie. We pillage the pastry case for later.

Ooohhh - let's go here.

Crossing the Snake.

Both ways are red diamond dangerous.

This little known stretch of farmland on the banks of the Columbia grows 86% of the North American supply of porta-potties. This is the dominant species, known around here as Cerulean Blus. This patch looks ready to harvest.

The Black F-18's are out today to see us off.

Things to do in Mattawa.

Stack and stacks of Borg Hives are hidden amongst the Italian Cypress. There is also a Titan and Nike missile base in this area. That is why the Black F-18's are so perturbed.

The Pelican Patrol goes placidly past.

This really, really looks like another outpost of the Wildfire Lab. There is an "Agricultural Station" in the desert. There is an unusual amount of electrical power being delivered there. There seems to be a lot of digging and such going on. There are large tanks in the distance. Nobody will make eye contact.

Forget the Wildfire Lab! Play Frisbee!

These Burgers Bluster no more.

Renewed Topographics - Vantage Version.

Pioneer Coffee's back patio in Cle Elum.

Seems likely there used to be a building in what is now the coffee patio.

We drive through a strange space/time portal to somewhere in Michigan, summer of 1955. Then, we pop out again somewhere near North Bend WA, spring of 2024. We think. Better ask at the next gas station.

North Delta!! How did this happen?

Then we hit some antiquated wormhole tunnel to heaven only knows where.

We land in some dual reality and are very confused. This place is full of casinos and construction cranes - what a strange combination.

En route home we spot our neighbour Heather - skillfully dodging the poles and wires as she lines up her plane for landing at YVR.

Reality is entriely shattered when we return to our own lane and find the house that has stood beside ours for the past 36 years - has disappeared.
