Roadtrip 2025 Fall: Yakima - Bend - Reno - Mammoth Lakes - Hurricane - Sedona - Yucca Valley - Paso Robles - St. Helena - Brookings - Newport - Seaside

Day 18 - Secret Slickrock

We lunch at wonderful Rene in Patio Azul at Tlaquepaque. This time we're behind the plastic wind protector. Why not make use of a different kind of view?

The metal pitchers are all lined up and ready for deployment.

Yet another parking lot view - at Chavez Ranch.

The rains last week are making the desert bloom.

There is no way to make a picture without Cathedral Rock.

See?

Can you spot - the wee yellow dot?

Crescent Moon Ranch, and of course, Cathedral Rock.

Cathedral with prickly pear.

The view from secret slick rock - opposite to Cathedral.

Russ discovers a new use for the water bottle. It is now a Sedona chime.

We've never seen the ocotillas green like this before.

So green - and so lush. Must be the effect of the recent rain storms still hanging in there.

The Black Helicopters have a new trick: the port side is painted in SAR colours and the starboard side is painted black.

Not sure if this one counts - it is definitively white and red.

Selfie madness in the vortex.
