Roadtrip 2025 Fall: Yakima - Bend - Reno - Mammoth Lakes - Hurricane - Sedona - Yucca Valley - Paso Robles - St. Helena - Brookings - Newport - Seaside

Day 21 - Twin Buttes

Our first sighting of the fearsome Pinks, the apex land predator in these parts. Lately, the Pinks have been harrassed by the local population as being bad for business, so they have taken to staying hidden in the bush for fear of vigilantes. They continue to prey on unsuspecting tourists, luring them in with the promise of soft seats and sugary drinks. The tourists, once lulled to sleep, are whisked away to the Pinks' secret lair, thought to be near Chicken Point.

Wendy rounds the curve.

Wendy finds a rock.

A near Pink calamity.

Hah!! We find what the Black Helicopters don't want us to see: a Giant Fossilized Bigfoot Print. That's my feet for reference. Yup. Bigfoot!!

No sign of Black Helicopters. We noticed them buzzing bikers over there earlier.

The canyon falls into shadow early these days - it's our usual sprint to the parking lot from here.

A very small sign of the rain storms of 3 weeks ago.

Uh-oh!! The faint strains of Also Sprach Zarathustra are wafting through the hills. There is a Giant Black Monolith out there. And something is about to become sentient. Where are the Black Helicopters?

The pounding tympanies signal the arrival of yet another competitor for Homo Sapiens.

Meanwhile a flowering tree clings to it's surreal location along a red cliff edge. How do they survive this way?

Top drawer landscape companies couldn't design anything better than this.

Helllllooooo - I'm really very friendly. hahahahaha

Sky diver.

"T" marks the spot.
