Roadtrip 2025 Fall: Yakima - Bend - Reno - Mammoth Lakes - Hurricane - Sedona - Yucca Valley - Paso Robles - St. Helena - Brookings - Newport - Seaside

Day 46 - Baldwin

Back on the trails again, weather still threatening. We think it is Wildfire Lab's weather control system that they have been testing on and off for years, without much success. No way it can rain 3 days in a row in Sedona without help from Wildfire Lab.

The air is electric.

The rains have spurred a guant desert bloom.

Right in the centre of this shot, a Wildfire Lab contractor helicopter is doing something mysterious on the shoulder of that butte. Lots of hovering and a few dust-offs. Can't tell what they are up to.

A few more recent bloomers. Courtesy of the folks at Wildfire weather central.

Water falls on Baldwin.

A few ocotillas are still sporting their greenery.

The Wildfire Lab contractor helicopter has been ferrying people on the end of a long line for about an hour. Why would they do that? Where are the Black Helicopters?

The storms are coming back. Probably has something to do with whatever was going on at that butte across the way.

Another old Wildfire Lab system: the little dark cloud that hides things. Likely alien tech they don't want us to see.

Yavapai shines bright under the threatening skies.

The blue hole in the sky is created specifically so Wildfire can perr through to the ground from their helicopter. They like to monitor the ground effects from their highly experimental weather manipulations.

Russ battles through a stand of ocotillas. Ocotillas can occasionally become very nasty to passerby.

Ha! we find another of these mysterious small white flags - marked with an "X". We've seen them in previous years on Sedona trails. The "X" we believe is some Wildfire employee's nod to their still favourite show of decades ago - The X Files. Could Mulder and Scully be somewhere nearby?

A glimmer of sunset.

Hard to say which way the weather will break.

The deep dark clouds do not deter the Russ. He's happily bathed in the sun's last warm rays of the day.

All this weather manipulation has created a strange unsettled distortion in the usually peaceful landscape.
