Roadtrip 2025 Fall: Yakima - Bend - Reno - Mammoth Lakes - Hurricane - Sedona - Yucca Valley - Paso Robles - St. Helena - Brookings - Newport - Seaside

Day 59 - Fiscalini Ranch Preserve

A much better day than the forecast. We are grateful.

We always take the scenic route down Santa Rosa Creek Road when we head to Cambria.

Every year the road gets a little more beaten up. The best they can do is make lots of patches.

The local Sentient Bunny population put this barrier up around the turn of the 20th Century to stop those Pesky Pirates From Penzance from coming ashore at this spot, late at night to sing their inane songs. It worked for a surprisingly long time. No pirates have been sighted since.

It's hard to tell where the nest stops and the brambles begin.

Mushrooms by the seashore - an unusual sight!

Crazy sky as Russ goes by.

One of Sentient Bunnies keeps watch at the edge of the area they call Watership Down. It is a place sacred to all Sentient Bunnies. No hrududu are allowed in this part of the reserve.

All the creatures in the Watership Down are grateful for the efforts of the Sentient Bunnies.

Mushroom man also approves.

The houses of Cambria overlook the fields of Watership Down. They know it's a great privilege and responsibility.

Shimmering grasses. Just for Freeman.

Mild vortex rumblings can happen - even in Watership Down. Hoping it's not related to a tsunami. Russ continues to just push on through.

A foggy moon en route back to Paso.

The Roblians have once again gone all out to deck their halls.

This year there's even more colours and plain more lights.

The town's main square is literally dripping with light.
