Day 73 - Vernon to Enderby to Vancouver

The last pic before the power went off. It's 7 am and we are in a Vernon Hotel. That's a Blenz Coffee across the parking lot. It was our morning plan. Then suddenly the lights went out! Today is a BIG DAY - and not so sure it's off to a great start! Maybe just another challenge for the Mission Extension.

The Latest Attempt at the First Land Crossing of North America by Yacht is underway. This yacht is equipped with its own water source, which enables smooth sailing across prairie. It is not known what they are going to do when they get to the mountains.

Identity Crisis, BC style. They are hoping for the Usual Government Bailout.

Once again, I spot the motel and Wendy hits the gas.

In case you really need it, The World-Famous Creepy Christmas is just down the street from Baits.

Trains roll through the Fraser Canyon. Today - the Coquihalla Hwy was close due to snowfall. I think it's been decades since I travelled the "canyon route". It is very pretty - and indeed the road has improved over those many years - but still a lot of caution is indicated.

The weather is turning deep and dark again. There have been construction delays along the canyon. Darn! We won't make Hope before our light slips away.

A forest fire?? In all this rain??? Wildfire Lab????

Yup. Camera jammers. Definitely Wildfire Lab.

We pull into Hope. We are hoping for coffee. Nyet.
