Day 2 - Richland

Un dimanche après-midi à l'île de la Riviere Columbia. With the usual apologies to Georges Seurat. And we're not on an island.

Lead Gull supervises all dock activities. Never anger the Lead Gull.

Even on the beautiful Columbia - there are rules.

The World's Biggest Cheese Grater. Really.

The Iron Umbrella of the Columbia. First installed in 1963, this ICBM defence system was deemed necessary to defend the priceless vineyards of the Columbia.

Spring has sprung. Allergies have sprung.

The tumbleweed menace clusters for attack - while the unsuspecting fishers just carry on.

The Lemmings of the Columbia. This strikingly weird cycle happens every four years, when every able-bodied tumbleweed rushes to the Columbia to throw itself into the rushing waters.

It's trying really hard to be Spring.

Richland features some great old signage and vintage malls. Unfortunately - they all need a little TLC to make this a truly funky destination.
