Day 7 - Smith Rock

The carefully and presciently named Misery Trail. It goes up and up and up in a straight line until the five million switchbacks. We were able to hike this trail in our misspent youth, with Emma Brown Sock. Look closely, and you will see some of Les Miserables.

View fom the north end of Smith Rock Park. This is the first time we've visited this spot and it is well worth it.

At the foot of the trail - right at riverside - stands a massive pine. Branching structure is gorgeous.

Scaling Great Big Cliffs is the Big Thing here. There is amazingly little cursing. We can hear everything.
