Roadtrip 2025 Spring: Richland - Bend - Waldport - Pacific City - Seaside

Day 16 - Ona Beach

Alternative forest practices.

The Sentient Clams have improved their celestial observatories by switching to concrete construction techniques. Unfortunately, these buildings are a lot less attractive than the original Clamhenges.

These colours just don't seem real for a beach abstract. But there they are.

Mysterious runes appear on the beach. They are always accompanied by cut bits of kelp and small blue amulets. Their meaning remains unclear.

The Sentient Clams' massive new Proton Accelerator Ring and Control Buildings, designed to make a black hole somewhere underneath Alsea Bay. They plan to use the black hole to make a Giant Sucking Sound to rival that which comes out of Shea Stadium.

Ona Beach takes great pride in her abstract art production.

Ancient waves were frozen in this exact place by forces only the Sentient Clams seem to understand.

A friendly sea monster hovers over Ona. Just checkin' things out ....

Ona sports examples of these shells imbedded in rocks in many places.

A canyon runs through it.

Sand cockatiel - an ode to my latest all star little foster - Lemon Drop.

Yup. Mothra's Egg. Another one. It's only a matter of time before it hatches, and....

The sea continues on, unperturbed by thoughts of Mothra.

An Early Try at dentures.

Dogs strut in the wind.

The Egg Has Hatched!!! And...

Ella watches the horizon. Mothra is awakening.

Finally - a sunset!
