Day 20 - Yaquina Head Lighthouse

There are pages and pages of rules to be obeyed - but heh, be sure to stay relaxed.

Yup. We found it. Note the Top Secret Surveillance Device on top of the "Preserve Vegetation" sign. The Vegetative Preservationists are totally rabid in this area. They have funding from RFK.

The USCG gets the most fun out of their helicopters. They buzz the tower here every day.

There is a giant colony of cormorants on the centre rock.

Yaquina Head has its own version of Confusion Corner. All traffic is diverted into the giant visitor center parking lot before being allowed to escape. The white SUV is clearly confused.

Yaquina Head Light Station.

The rickety fence that keeps tourists from taking a dive is needing some TLC.

Nye Beach can be seen - waaaayy down there - from the top of the head.

Yaquina Head grasses are blowing extra hard today.

Some Tings Gots Dat Shine.

Folks dot the black pebble beach.

Yaquina Head Magnetic Point. It mysteriously calls tourists to this spot, where they stand helplessly as the tide comes in. We think this effect has something to do with them ChemKlouds we spotted the other day.
