Day 3 - Clarkston to McCall

Good morning Lewiston! Clark's nipped into the pizza hut - Lewis is becoming fast annoyed.

The Great White Elk stalks its prey from its aerie high above the forest floor.

In Idaho the significance of crossing to mountain time zone warrants the placement of a significant monument.

Darn! .... and they had everything you could ever hope for in a road side overnighter.

only 3 days on the road and we're already totally bug splatted. Poor bugs.

at a crossroads at New Meadows Idaho

Lewis and Clark painstakingly built this giant whaling ramp on the Snake River before Clark noticed that there aren't any whales around here. Still, it seemed like a good idea at the time.

Yesterday in Walla Walla we were gifted with these fabulous tomatoes from the local community garden by some very generous folks we met at our afternoon coffee stop. Tonight we thoroughly enjoyed them in one of Russ' delicious pasta creations. Thanks Walla Walla folks for providing a travel highlight!!!
