Day 28 - Trees of Mystery, Brookings, Port Orford, Bandon

Paul and Baba continue to perfect their technique of crushing cars - they're getting better all the time.

A new addition to the entertainment program at Trees of Mystery - it's the parking lot tour shuttle - instituted as a result of Paul and Babe's car crushing prowess - all aboard!

With the parking lot tour program in progress, it was decided that the addition of some gorgeous dahlias on the perimeter of the lot would greatly enhance the viewer experience.

This is definitely NOT what one wants to run into on the highway - yet it's the 3rd time this trip we've passed a serious accident - we've never seen this many before in all our years of travel. Please folks - stay safe and drive to the conditions.

This is the official California-Oregon border point. There is an agricultural inspection station in there somewhere. Behind Krusty.

I thought we were in Oregon. We are in Oregon! They're migrating. Beware, they're planning a takeover - yikes I think we bought one just before we left home - all be it a modern smaller version - ohno. They got us.

For some reason, all roads lead away from the Masonic Temple.

If ya hafta have a load o' fish 'n chips, this is the place. Even the chips are battered.

Emma and Russ having fun on the streets of Bandon. No wonder - Russ is carefully guarding a box of hand made chocolates from Coastal Mist - one of several food related reasons we had to stop over here.

Yes, yes, the Oregon coast is insanely beautiful.

This is the footwear optional part of the beach.

Yes, yes, the Oregon coast is insanely beautiful.

This is one of the armada of photographers lined up stem to stern making their fortunes photographing the insanely beautiful Oregon coast. Every one of them has a more expensive camera than everyone else. Every one of them has a bigger, whiter lens than everyone else. Every one of them is visiting this very beach every day for at least six months. Every one of them gets up at 5am to shoot the dawn, too. Every one of them has 132,593 shutter actuations on their more-expensive-than-everyone-else's-camera, every one of them sunsets (or sunrises). After all, there are fortunes to be made!
