when one gets bored, you can always dig to China
Emma takes a resting step on the airless extreme of the summit ridge of the peak of Cape Kiwanda. We took a big chance in trying to free climb the summit without oxygen or espresso before darkness fell and the coffee shops closed. Finally, rational thought won out, and we retreated down the giant col to the safety of our base camp next to Stimulus Coffee in Pacific City. We may try again for the summit before winter closes in, and the climbing season ends.
Very distinctive markings left in the sand on top of the Kiwanda dunes. Given all the unusual coastal activiies we have witnessed, we can only surmise that the CIA is at it again, using elements of coast Haida art and Sumerian cuneiform to attempt communication with the unknown (to us) visitors.
Alien footprints lead away from this landing site, believed to be made by a giant Segway like device that lands vertically and then rolls away on two very large wheels. We believe the alien to resemble a seven-foot bunny that hops upright on two legs.
