Playground equipment remained on the site many months into the closure process. The slide seemed an appropriate symbol for the many questions posed by the demise of the Little Mountain Housing Project. What are the best ways to provide social and supportive housing? Can public/private partnerships really work, or are interests truly incompatible? Whose interests are being served? Who receives public housing and who doesn’t? Can we realize long term value for the sale of public land? Enough to make your head spin – where’s the merry go round?
