By July, the demolition teams had started work in earnest: chain-link fencing arrived to keep all of us out of the danger zone, and protective barriers were erected around the trees. Thank goodness they are at least going to save the trees. Appliances were removed from the buildings.

In August, our mayor announced he supported re-opening these buildings. As usual, he made no comment as to how.
