Heartwood

Russel Kwan

Heartwood is my continuing study of the interface between trees and man.  Wherever there are trees, there is also evidence of man’s domestication, encroachment or outright destruction.  This small sub-series exhibits the successful husbandry of the luminous, moss-laden trees in the Georgian swamps of the United States.  Here, the marks of man can still be seen, but the majesty of the trees still dominates.
